Numerical study of the interaction between jets in a reheating furnace

This work aims to evaluate the operational processes and performance of industrial diffusion flame burners. Specifically, the study focuses on the interaction between multiple jets and their influence on the dynamic and thermal characteristics of the flow field, flame stability, and the resulting flow field composition within the combustion chamber. The investigation was carried out on three industrial gas burners, each with a capacity of 250 kilowatts. Numerical simulations were performed using the FLUENT software, incorporating the standard k-ε turbulence model coupled with the Eddy Dissipation (ED) model for turbulent combustion. This approach allowed for a detailed analysis of the complex flow and combustion processes occurring within the burners. The results demonstrate that the structure of the flow field, as well as the shape and stability of the flame, are significantly affected by the geometry of the burner and the mode of operation. These findings provide valuable insights for optimizing burner design and improving combustion efficiency.
