The Development of Toaster Design and Future Design Research since the Industrial Revolution — Marine Element Bionic Design
This study analyzes the evolution of toaster styling design since the Industrial Revolution and explores future design trends, with the research objective of investigating how bionic design can be applied to future toaster designs.First, the study analyzes the development changes of toasters over the past 100 years, identifies the reasons for these changes, and explores the historical events that occurred during that time to understand the causes of the styling evolution of toasters.Second, numerical values are proposed and analyzed around the styling design of toasters and future development trends, with the main characteristics identified as geometric sensibility, functionality, decoration, and amusement.Linear analysis indicates an upward trend in decoration, amusement, and functionality, while a downward trend in geometric sensibility.Subsequently, limitations, design methods, and future application trends of bionic design in toaster design are discussed, proposing new ideas for the research and development of current toaster products. Finally, a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is applied to evaluate and analyze the design proposals, providing an effective basis for the design results of toasters.Ultimately, this study reveals that by analyzing the historical development patterns of products to predict future trends, it identifies the direction of product development. At the same time, it also explores the feasibility of combining product styling design with bionic design methods, indicating a new direction for new product design and providing a foundational approach for future styling design research. The research results provide new perspectives for the design direction of future toasters and other home appliances.Predicting future development trends and applying bionic design can better enhance emotional value and user experience in future designs, thereby leading future design trends.
