A Study on the Impact of Korean Food Chefs’ Job Characteristics on Self-Efficacy and Job Performance
Analyzing the job performance of Korean chefs verifies the success of the personnel organization of Korean chefs, which is an important variable of interest to many Korean restaurant managers.Accordingly, this study examined the relationship between the job characteristics of Korean chefs and their self-efficacy and job performance, targeting Korean chefs operating in Korean restaurants in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam.Looking at the verification results based on the research hypothesis, first, the sub-factors of the job characteristics of Korean chefs (expertise, task-relatedness, autonomy, and feedback) were found to have a positive (+) synergy effect on self-efficacy.Second, self-efficacy was analyzed to have a positive (+) synergy effect on job performance.Third, looking at the verification results for the research hypothesis, the sub-factors of the job characteristics of Korean chefs (expertise, task-relatedness, autonomy, and feedback) were found to have a positive (+)synergy effect on job performance. The limitations of this study are that there is a lack of prior research that has clarified the causal relationship between the job characteristics of Korean cuisine chefs and their self-efficacy, and few prior studies have examined the indirect effects of Korean cuisine chefs' selfefficacy. Therefore, follow-up studies are needed to supplement this.
