Combined angioembolization and surgical approach to complex pulmonary arteriovenous malformations
Pulmonary arteriovenous malformations (PAVMs) are uncommon erroneous connections between the pulmonary artery and vein without an interconnecting capillary network. Approximately 70% of PAVMs are the result of hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia,1 a genetic condition. PAVMs most commonly originate from the pulmonary artery, with drainage to the pulmonary veins.
