Concurrent Presence of Ruptured Ectopic Pregnancy, Acute Appendicitis, and Meckel’s Diverticulum: A Rare Case Report
Abstract Acute abdomen presents as a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge to a surgeon. Acute appendicitis, Meckel’s diverticulum (MD), and ruptured ectopic pregnancy are commonly encountered causes; however, their concurrent presence is a rare event. We present a rare case of concurrence of these pathologies in a young female. This instance emphasizes the imperative for surgeons to consider the possibility of multiple pathologies during surgical interventions. A meticulous assessment of the appendix and ileum is crucial during the management of ruptured ectopic pregnancies to prevent missed diagnoses. This case report serves as a reminder of the significance of thorough evaluation in navigating the intricacies of acute abdomen scenarios, ultimately enhancing patient care and outcomes.
