Features of antiutopia in R. Kadatskaya's play "Battalion of Flying Grannies"
The purpose of the study is to determine at the structural and plot level the features of antiutopia in the play by the modern Russian playwright R. Kadatskaya "Battalion of Flying Grannies". The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that for the first time we analyzed the little-studied play "Battalion of Flying Grannies" from the point of view of classifying it as a genre different from the work defined by the author, namely fairy tales. The article provides a brief analysis of the play, defines the problem-thematic complex of the text, examines the system of images, shows the transformation of characters. As a result, it is proved that the play "Battalion of Flying Grannies" is not an antiutopia in its purest form, however, it traces a number of genre-defining features, among which: limited space, the presence of a certain socio-political event that directly or indirectly affects every resident of a city or country, quasi-domination, regulation of life by a specially created set of rules and laws, voluntary submission to a certain totalitarian system, newspeak, frozen time, heroes resisting the environment.
