Cognitive socio-cultural model of the comic effect (by the example of French folk anecdote)

The aim of this article is the cognitive sociocultural modeling of the pointe of a joke, which is formed as a result of the violation of the traditional logic of story presentation in the narrative of a joke, built on the confrontation of universal binary oppositions. Scientific novelty consists in the fact that for the first time the scheme of the joke’s climax: “norm + non-norm” as a certain stage of incongruence formation, creation of a turning point, atypical situation through the combination of incongruous things, based on the interdisciplinary consideration of ontological situations on the example of French folk humor. The comic effect is a consequence of the incongruous combination of the development of events. The dichotomy “norm vs. non-norm” is generic and presupposes species diversity of oppositions of literary universals manifested at different levels of language. The article considers an example of analyzing the joke pointe in the semantic aspect. The study was conducted with the involvement of works of leading Russian and Western cognitologists conducting research in linguistics, literary studies, sociology and other related sciences. As a result, the choice of the hybrid method and the importance of studying the combination of inconsistencies as the basis for creating a comic effect were justified.
