Comparative Analysis of the Current Alcohol Consumption Situation among Chinese and American College Students
Abstract: College students are at a stage of life where they are legally permitted to consume alcohol. In recent years, there has been a notable increase in the number of cases involving the misuse of alcohol by college students, which has led to widespread public concern and the recognition of this issue as a significant concern that requires attention. This study aims to compare the current situation of alcohol use among college students in China and the United States, to explore the impact of cultural differences on drinking behavior, and to propose new prevention suggestions based on existing prevention measures. This paper reviews relevant literature, including statistical data and survey reports, over the past 10 years. The results show that despite the differences in alcohol legal policies and cultural norms between China and the United States, the phenomenon of college students drinking alcohol in the two countries shows obvious similarities. This study elucidates the intricate nuances of college students alcohol consumption patterns by examining the underlying causes and consequences of their alcohol use.
