IndividualizedhomoeopathyinthemanagementofPCOS-Acasereport
Background: Teenage girls and young women are frequently affected by the hormonal condition polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). PCOS frequently manifests as irregular menstruation, physical appearance changes, and infertility, all of which are distressing to the mind. PCOS is thought to have an impact on several aspects of women's health, resulting in psychological morbidity, a detrimental effect on the emotional and physical levels, and ultimately a reduction in quality of life. Homoeopathy emphasizes the psychosomatic component more and assists in controlling a woman's entire health. Method: A detailed case history comprising the characteristic physical, mental and emotional symptoms of the patient were recorded. Individualized homoeopathic remedy was used to treat a case of a 21-year-old patient with PCOS. Assessment: For a full year, the case was followed up. The regularity of the menstrual cycle and the results of the ultrasonography were used to evaluate the case's progress. The case received a total score of +9/13 using the Modified Naranjo Criteria. Results: Within three to six months, the case showed a discernible improvement. Ultrasonography showed that the cysts resolved, and the menstrual cycle returned to normal. Conclusion: This case demonstrates the significance of constitutional homoeopathic medicine in the management of PCOS
