A Note on Locally Primitive Arc-Transitive Graphs of Valency 8

Let [Formula: see text] be a connected [Formula: see text]-locally primitive arc-transitive graph for some subgroup [Formula: see text] of [Formula: see text]. Suppose that [Formula: see text] is a [Formula: see text]-transitive graph. In this paper, we give a characterization of the vertex-stabilizer [Formula: see text] when [Formula: see text] has valency 8.

Abstract

Let [Formula: see text] be a connected [Formula: see text]-locally primitive arc-transitive graph for some subgroup [Formula: see text] of [Formula: see text]. Suppose that [Formula: see text] is a [Formula: see text]-transitive graph. In this paper, we give a characterization of the vertex-stabilizer [Formula: see text] when [Formula: see text] has valency 8.
