Electrical conductivity of forage subjected to different sobbing times and water volumes

In Brazil, forage grasses constitute the basis of the herd's diet. The electrical conductivity test stands out for generating quick responses to differentiate batches at different levels of deterioration. However, further studies are needed to improve this practice for forage species. The objective of this work was to evaluate the electrical conductivity in several forage seeds, with different volumes of water soaked and soaking time. The experimental design used was completely randomized in a 3x4 factorial scheme, consisting of three volumes of water for the imbibition solution (25, 50 and 75 mL) and four imbibition times (0 hrs, 8 hrs, 16 hrs and 24 hrs). From the tests it was concluded that with an increase in the soaking time, and a smaller volume of water to perform electrical conductivity, the leaching of nutrients increases and consequently less vigor of the seeds.

From the tests it was concluded that with an increase in the soaking time, and a smaller volume of water to perform electrical conductivity, the leaching of nutrients increases and consequently less vigor of the seeds.
