AVALIAÇÃO MICROBIOLÓGICA DE MATERIAIS E EQUIPAMENTOS UTILIZADOS EM UMA CLÍNICA DE ESTÉTICA

The demand for aesthetic procedures is becoming increasingly common worldwide. However, the lack of proper infection control measures has contributed to a rise in complications related to these procedures, which can pose a risk to patient health. The aim of this project was to assess the effectiveness of preventive measures and the care of materials and equipment used. Additionally, the presence of microorganisms was investigated in the environments where these services are performed, and susceptibility profiles were determined. The research was conducted in a beauty clinic located in the state of Paraná, Brazil. Samples were collected in duplicates from 15 locations and equipment commonly used in the clinic’s daily operations. Of the samples collected, 73.33% showed microbial growth, with coagulase-negative Staphylococcus being the most prevalent genus, representing 60% of the results.
