SAÚDE MENTAL DO IDOSO: REESTRUTURAÇÃO E TROCA DE PAPÉIS NO CONTEXTO FAMILIAR
It is known that the aging process is a natural process of life, being the last phase of human development. As a result, several changes occur in an individual's life as they age, some of which are physical, cognitive, behavioral, among others, resulting from advancing age. These changes will also encompass the family and social nucleus of that person, where, for the most part, there is a need for changes in the family structure of the elderly person and consequently it will be necessary to change roles in this context, completely changing the functions that each family had within the family to be able to organize themselves and take care of the manager. As a result of this family restructuring, together with the challenges of the last cycle of life, the elderly lose a large part of their autonomy and this factor directly impacts their mental health, and may even develop some psychological disorder in this final phase of life, such as depression and anxiety.
