Machine Learning-Based Design Optimization of FinFET Transistors for Energy-Efficient Computing

This study addresses the application of machine learning approaches to increase the efficacy of the FinFET transistor approach with the objective of increasing energy use in computing workloads. The adoption of FinFET technology is vital in establishing energy-efficient computer systems due to its enhanced electrostatic control and lower leakage currents. However, in order to attain the optimum degree of performance, it is required to make accurate alterations to distinct design aspects, which could be challenging when applying traditional approaches. In this research, we provide a new solution that leverages neural network techniques to ease the design optimization method. Using the training of models on complete datasets documenting FinFET characteristics and performance indicators, we disclose remarkable advances in energy efficiency and computational capabilities. Our observations not only indicate the efficacy of machine learning in faster FinFET design optimization but also underline its potential in spurring invention across energy-efficient computing systems. This study adds to the improvement of contemporary semiconductor design methodologies, providing doors for ecologically sound and high-performing computing systems.
