Tuning of Photocurrent by Magnetic Field in p-Si/NiFe2O4/CuPc/Au Heterostructure

Upon exposure to 660 nm red laser light, the photocurrent exhibits an increase corresponding to the rise in optical power. When both light and magnetic fields are applied, the photocurrent to dark current ratio initially increases and then decreases with the magnetic field at a constant positive bias. Furthermore, with the application of magnetic field a significant change in the electrical hysteresis width (|ΔI|) is observed when the heterostructure is under optical illumination compared to when it is in dark condition. This change in |ΔI| may result from the reorientation of magnetic clusters and magnetostriction caused by the applied magnetic field. This heterostructure has potential for future development in advanced opto-spintronics sensor devices.

Abstract

We have successfully fabricated p-Si/NiFe<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf>O<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">4</inf> (NFO)/CuPc/Au heterostructure and have investigated its photocurrent under the influence of magnetic field.
