ANÁLISE DE RESISTÊNCIA DO CONCRETO UTILIZANDO DIFERENTES TIPOS DE AGREGADOS GRAÚDOS

Since concrete is the most widely used material in the world today, there is always a need to improve its resistance capabilities. Considering compressive strength as the main property of this material, several factors can influence this characteristic, including the different types of aggregates used in its production. This research aims to analyze the influence of coarse aggregate on the compressive strength of concrete. For this purpose, axial compression tests Were performed on test specimens produced from different types of concrete. Two types of aggregates of the same mineralogical origin but with different granulometries were chosen, these aggregates being basalt boulders with 19 and 12 millimeters. The types of concrete in the study were made using the same mass measurements, but with different coarse aggregates, and the same curing time. The analysis of the tests found that there is an influence on resistance due to the difficulty of compaction and greater presence of voids when the concrete is made with larger aggregates, and that when the concrete is produced with smaller aggregates, it presents better resistance due to greater fluidity and better compaction of the material, generating fewer voids. The analysis produced in this research seeks to contribute to the advancement of technology in concrete production, so that the resistive capacity and durability of this material can be further improved.
