Essay on the determinants of the location of industrial companies: case of the Akbou industrial zone
The objective of our work is to study the factors influencing the location of industrial companies in the Taharacht (Akbou) area of Algeria. After a theoretical analysis of models and paradigms, our results revealed that the proximity of production factors does not influence the location of industrial companies in the Taharacht-Akbou area; instead, the presence of other industries, known as the "effect of externalities," guides their location. The analysis also reveals that the "industrial zone" serves as the primary and most important factor in determining the location of companies in this particular locality. The unique feature of the industrial zone lies in its ability to offer benefits such as reduced implementation costs and the availability of attractive land suitable for industrial buildings, among other benefits.
