Chronic hand eczema in France: occupational impact and work absenteeism

Chronic hand eczema (CHE) significantly impacts patients’ professional lives, leading to high rates of absenteeism, career changes and reduced productivity. This study, conducted among French patients, reveals that nearly one in five individuals had to change careers due to CHE, with a 20.5% absenteeism rate. The findings highlight the need for tailored management strategies to mitigate occupational burden of CHE, which can be extrapolated to other countries.
