Lithium Battery Management and Monitoring System

The efficient management and monitoring of lithium ion batteries are critical for optimizing their performance, enhancing lifespan, and ensuring safety in various applications, such as electric vehicles, renewable energy storage, and portable electronics. A comprehensive Lithium Battery Management and Monitoring System (BMS) integrates multiple functions, including state of charge (SOC) estimation, state of health (SOH) tracking, temperature regulation, voltage balancing, and protection against overcharge, over discharge, and thermal runaway. This paper presents a novel BMS architecture that incorporates real time data acquisition, intelligent algorithms for SOC and SOH estimation, and advanced protection mechanisms. The system utilizes embedded sensors and microcontroller based circuits to monitor the battery parameters and communicates with external devices through a user friendly interface for data visualization and decision making. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the system in enhancing battery efficiency, prolonging operational lifespan, and preventing potential failures, making it a robust solution for modern energy storage systems. The proposed BMS provides a scalable, cost effective, and reliable solution for the next generation of lithium battery powered devices and systems.
