DEVELOPMENT THE COMPUTER MODEL OF INERTIAL SWORMING IN DISPERSE SYSTEMS

The work focuses on modeling the process of swarming of small particles in flows where they are distributed. The work provides a comprehensive analysis of the swarming phenomenon, and also proposes methods for developing universal swarming models that describe these processes. It was revealed that there are three key mechanisms for the formation of swarming in continuous flows of dispersed mixtures. The first mechanism is associated with changes in the structure of the main flow inside the device, which can be called inertial swarming. The second mechanism is explained by the presence of special points or “traps”, as well as attracting or repulsive centers in the device. The third mechanism is based on the interaction between particles in the flow, which can be characterized as interacting swarming. The study also presents the results of computer simulations and numerical experiments describing inertial swarming using both CFD modeling and stochastic lattice approaches.
