Discontinuous Solutions for a non-local Regularization of the Short Pulse Equation

The propagation of ultra-short light pulses in silica optical fibers is modeled by the short pulse equation. We introduce a nonlocal regularization of the problem and study the existence of solutions in a class of possibly discontinuous functions.
