A VERTICALIZAÇÃO DA FORMAÇÃO NA EDUCAÇÃO PROFISSIONAL E TECNOLÓGICA: REFLEXÕES A PARTIR DO CURSO TÉCNICO EM ENFERMAGEM INDÍGENA

This article aims to reflect on the process of verticalization in Vocational and Technological Education, starting from the presentation of theoretical and epistemological elements on the subject, considering the few publications available on this study object. A qualitative approach was used along with field research to understand how the process of verticalization of education occurred in two classes of the technical course in Nursing for indigenous people, in two municipalities of the state of Amazonas – Manaus and Lábrea. Twenty-nine students who graduated from the two classes participated, responding to a questionnaire with open and closed questions. Low verticalization in courses of the same technological axis was observed, as well as difficulties in continuing their academic trajectories in higher education. Low employability was also evident, highlighting the need for investments in effective and specific public policies for the researched social group.
