The correlation and interaction between language, thought and culture: theoretical approaches
The correlation and interaction between language, thought and culture is one of the central issues in modern linguistics, with profound implications for understanding cultural identity and how language and culture influence each other. Thus, this study approaches the fundamental challenges of this interrelationship by integrating perspectives from different scientific fields, but does not aim at discussing the primary or secondary nature of these phenomena, but focuses on the close relationship between language and thought in the context of culture and reality. The concept of culture is approached from two fundamental perspectives: humanistic and anthropological. Culture, defined as everything created by man, includes language, symbols, and meanings in a complex process of communication. Language, considered the ,,mirror of culture”, reflects not only the real conditions of life, but also the social consciousness, mentality, and values of a community. Thus, the relationship between language and culture is bidirectional, in the sense that language takes on the richness of culture and culture is strongly linked to the specificity of a language. Language influences thinking and culture, and culture shapes language as a form of expression of cultural identity.
