ANÁLISE DAS ATUAIS CONDIÇÕES DE ACESSIBILIDADE DO ESTÁDIO MUNICIPAL ANTÔNIO CARLOS MAGALHÃES EM ITAPETINGA – BA
Given the importance of guaranteeing basic rights for the quality of life of citizens, regardless of their characteristics, ensuring accessibility is a crucial step in providing equal access to various environments and enabling individuals to exercise their citizenship fully. Based on this premise, this article presents a qualitative analysis of the Antônio Carlos Magalhães Municipal Stadium, located in the city of Itapetinga, Bahia, regarding its current accessibility conditions. The objective is to evaluate its compliance with current regulations and its ability to offer an inclusive and multifunctional space. The study highlights the importance of removing physical and cultural barriers to promote social inclusion for people with disabilities through architectural accessibility. The research employed exploratory visits, direct observation techniques, and analysis of documents, spreadsheets, and photographic records, as well as a literature review based on technical standards and scientific articles. Accessibility is explored through its categories—spatial orientation, communication, mobility, and usability—with the aim of creating an environment that allows the full participation of all citizens. Based on the analysis of the stadium's current conditions and Brazilian accessibility legislation, adaptations are suggested that could transform the space into a more democratic venue, fostering health, inclusion, and social interaction, particularly through sports activities.
