Structural Relationships Among Self-Leadership, Resilience, and Performance of High School Taekwondo Breaking Competition Players
Purpose: This study aims to provide practical strategies for enhancing the performance of high school Taekwondo players by examining the structural relationships among self-leadership, resilience, and performance using a structural equation model (SEM).
Method: Data from 201 high school Taekwondo players were used for the final analysis. The data were analyzed using SPSS (version 28.0) and AMOS (version 21.0), with frequency analysis, descriptive statistical analysis, confirmatory factor analysis of the measurement model, Cronbach’s α calculation, correlation analysis, structural equation modeling, and bootstrapping.
Results: The results indicated that self-leadership and resilience have a positive impact on the performance of high school Taekwondo players. Specifically, self-leadership was identified as a key factor in enhancing resilience, which subsequently contributed to improved performance.
Conclusion: The results underscore the significance of self-leadership as a fundamental strategy for enhancing the performance of high school Taekwondo breaking athletes. To optimize performance, it is essential to develop customized intervention strategies that take into account the distinct environment and individual characteristics of each athlete. These interventions should focus on empowering athletes to assume control of their own leadership, thereby enabling them to positively transform their thoughts and actions.
