TRIBUTE OF RESPECT AND ADMIRATION IN COMMEMORATION OF THREE MEMORABLE MEDICAL AND ACADEMIC EVENTS – CONTRIBUTIVE MEMORIES, NEW ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERSPECTIVES
This paper is, we believe, appropriate for the anniversary context in which we find ourselves: the Centenary of the National Institute of Rehabilitation, Physical Medicine, and Balneoclimatology (NIRPMB / INRMFB) and 125 years of uninterrupted medical and balneary activity at the Balneal and Rehabilitation Sanatorium Techirghiol (BRST / SBRT). At such a milestone, which is also a moment of assessment, we aim to address, in an alternating dynamics, historical elements – recent contributory memories – a series of more recent achievements in the field, as well as some perspectives for which the present lays as the foundation for the future. In this context, starting from nowadays, we will first move to the evocation – documented and equally humanly vibrant – of some personal, emotional memories of the first author and then some collective ones, of all the authors, so that, returning to contemporaneity, we wil highlight achievements that also constitute opportunities for further new performances. Among these, prominently stands the hosting and co-organization – for the second time (!) in Romania (the first time in Bucharest, in 2016) – by the Romanian Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine & Balneoclimatology (RSPMR / SRMFRB) and the BRST / SBRT, of the upcoming (47th) World Congress of the International Society of Medical Hydrology and Climatology (ISMH) / of Balneology, which will take place, not coincidentally, in Techirghiol.
