Spatial and temporal evolution and multidimensional driving factors of NPP in Hubei Province
Based on the MODIS Net Primary Productivity (NPP) data from 2000 to 2014, the spatial and temporal evolution of NPP and its multi-dimensional driving factors in Hubei Province were quantitatively analyzed by using RS and GIS technology. The results show that: 1) The annual NPP in Hubei province presents the increasing trend in space, from north to south, which the NPP value is higher at the southwest mountainous and east region, while the northwest is the lowest. In the past 15 years, the annual NPP in Hubei Province showed a slight decline, with the maximum in 2002 and the minimum in 2001 and 2011, which was 494gC m-2a-1. 2) The annual average NPP was significantly positively correlated with the annual average rainfall, and had no significant correlation with the annual average temperature. However, the NPP reached the maximum when the annual average temperature was 16-16.5°C.
