The non-verbal context includes acoustic, sonic, vibrational, and movement phenomena that are uniquely experienced by each human being from the gestational stage onward. By connecting with the unique sonic identity of each individual, one can engage with the non-verbal context through the human body and its extensions. This work aims to analyze the book "Theory of Music Therapy: a contribution to the understanding of the non-verbal context" (Teoria da Musicoterapia: contribuição ao conhecimento do contexto não verbal)" by Rolando Benenzon, which resulted in the development of this review. Through this study, it was possible to understand the variety of aspects that can be addressed therapeutically within the field of Music Therapy, whose primary purpose is to open channels of communication through non-verbal techniques.
