High-Speed Multi-Gas Sensing With a Broadband Fourier Domain Mode-Locked Laser
High-speed multi-gas sensing is important and desirable in environmental monitoring, industrial safety, and health care. In this work, four gases, including carbon dioxide, methane, acetylene, and water vapor, are measured simultaneously with a high-speed and broadband Fourier domain mode-locked laser (FDML) with a sweep range of 140 nm and a sweep rate of 49.6 kHz. The absorption spectral measurement rate is 50 kspectra/s, taking advantage of the high sweep rate of the FDML laser, which is promising for observing real-time combustion process diagnostics.
