Exploring the Design and Structural Optimization of a Shopping Complex (Basement with G+3) Using STAAD.Pro
The process of designing structures has changed dramatically as a result of the development of computer-aided design (CAD) technologies, which allow for accurate, effective, and standards-compliant solutions. This research uses STAAD.Pro to investigate the design and analysis of a retail complex (Basement with G+3).The proposal complies with Indian Standard IS 456:2000 and integrates the structural design of beams and columns. The design process was expedited by utilising STAAD.Pro's strong analytical capabilities, which made it possible to obtain comprehensive insights into structural performance, material optimisation, and load distribution.Findings derived by STAAD.To confirm the software's correctness and dependability, pro computations were contrasted with manual ones.STAAD.Pro's beam design outputs closely matched human calculations, guaranteeing that the reinforcement was adequate. But the findings of the column design showed differences, necessitating changes to meet the minimum reinforcement requirements of IS 456:2000.The importance of manual inspections in confirming software outputs and guaranteeing adherence to design standards is highlighted by this contrast. This study shows how effective STAAD.Pro is at structural design, emphasising how it may improve processes and design quality. When computational tools and manual validation are combined, a strong framework for building intricate structures are produced. In addition to fulfilling technical specifications, the project highlights how crucial iterative methods are to producing designs that are both economical and structurally strong.
