Reflections on Teaching Foreign Languages in Schools
In the article it is reflected how to conduct classes in a second foreign language and which skills to emphasize in order to achieve the best teaching and learning outcomes despite the limited number of hours available to teachers and the relatively low engagement of students. The analysis suggests that teaching second foreign languages should primarily focus on developing receptive skills by providing appropriate input and assisting in the development of strategic competence. It is also important for teachers to create optimal conditions for various types of classroom interactions and to create inspiring situations that enhance oral communication.
