Tissue Metabolomics Characterization of Human Valve Diseases using NMR spectroscopy
Motivation: Heart valve disease (HVD) is a multifactorial process and its pathophysiology has not been fully understood. Goal(s): To investigate and determine the metabolite tissue using the 1H-NMR based metabolomics study to discriminate the aortic valve and mitral valve. Approach: proton NMR spectroscopy Results: The results obtained from PLS-DA and VIP score plots of metabolites in tissue showed a separation between patients with aortic valves and mitral valves. Impact: The present study revealed discrimination of metabolic profiling of tissue of aortic valve patients from mitral valve replacement implying that 1H-NMR-based metabolomics may provide an insight into understanding the potential metabolic alteration.
