Research on Impact Modeling and Risk Assessment of Software Requirements Change based on Dependency Structure Matrix

In response to the inability of traditional project management tools to handle the iteration and feedback activities in the process of software requirements changes and to quantify change risks, this paper proposes a software requirements change analysis model based on Dependency Structure Matrix with software architecture as the carrier. The model defines the impact of requirements changes on the system architecture from two dimensions: the probability of requirements change propagation and the probability of requirements change impact. Additionally, the model can analyze the iteration phenomenon during the requirements change process, and use corresponding algorithms to divide the iterative process, reducing feedback information between modules after division. Experimental results show that using this model to analyze constantly changing requirements in a case study can not only provide the impact of these changes on software architecture design but also divide components in the architecture to reduce feedback between modules.
