The Estimate of the Influence of the Meteorological Season on the Calibration of Readings on PM2.5 Obtained from Inexpensive Sensors

Particular matters with a diameter of less than 2.5 microns (PM2.5) are considered one of the main pollutants in the atmospheric boundary layer of industrial cities, and the collection and analysis of data on their concentration has received a lot of attention both in science and when making decisions about the environmental situation of the city at the government level. At the same time, in practice, the collection of such data in different cities can be carried out by stations operating on different technologies. The work shows the practice of using relatively inexpensive optical sensors included in Cit yAir stations, as well as more expensive E-BAMI020 dust analyzers, to measure PM2.5 concentrations. It is shown that the data from cheaper stations need to be adjusted. The hypothesis of the influence of meteorological season on the linear calibration model has been explored. Several methods for extracting seasonal data provided that temperature measurements are available are presented. Experiments were conducted on data obtained from a spatially distributed network to measure the environmental situation in Krasnoyarsk city.
