Reactive Power and Voltage Control of 110–750 kV Belarus Electric Networks

This paper provides an overview of the current state and future prospects for the development of the electric networks in the Republic of Belarus, focusing on 220–750 k V power transmission lines. The objective of this study is to identify the most effective organizational measures for reducing technical power losses. This research is grounded in optimization methods for power system states, which are detailed within the paper. Specifically, the analysis incorporates optimization algorithms that consider sorting by active power flows, the effects on the initial power state, random selection of transformers, and the degree of impact each transformer has on the overall power state. The task of power system state optimization as the low-cost organizational measure for reducing the level of technological losses is presented. The coordinate descent method is employed to manage discrete variable changes during the calculation and optimization of power states. The paper highlights the significance of incorporating technological consumption and economic justifications in decision-making processes pertaining to network optimization and expansion.
