SAALUS: Smart Ambient Assisted Living Uquitous System
SAALUS (short for Smart Ambient Assisted Living Ubiquitous System) funded under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, aims to transform patient management at home using innovative medical devices such as wearable devices. These are not only integrated with cloud computing using mobile applications but also deeply combined with home automation. Artificial intelligence (AI) plays a crucial role in this project, it offers assistive services and technologies for the frail elderly or those with disabling chronic conditions based on e- health solutions. The aim of this work is to introduce the project and to present the possibilities offered by the integration of medical devices with cloud platforms for home rehabilitation. Considering the framework, it is of paramount importance to assess the potentialities, challenges, and possible barriers associated with integrating interventions in the home rehabilitation scenario.
