Complex Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in a 4-Year-Old With Repaired Critical Congenital Heart Disease and Autism Spectrum Disorder
Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder medications can be safely prescribed in patients with CHD. However, pharmacotherapy for co-occurring ADHD and CHD needs an additional level of oversight and collaboration between cardiology and prescribing clinicians. Behavioral therapies can be transdiagnostic and address challenges associated with autism and symptoms related to ADHD.
