Determination of parathyroid function after total thyroidectomy by objective analysis of its fluorescence intensity with indocyanine green using purpose developed computer software
• Parathyroid fluorescence intensity by indocyanine green correlates with PTH levels. • Measurement of fluorescence by means of the current scores is subjective and hardly reproducible. • We present a new software designed for objective measurement of parathyroid fluorescence. • It demonstrates its superior ability to identify who will not present postoperative hypocalcaemia. • It enables personalized patient care to mitigate the risk of hypocalcaemic complications.
