Study Of Awareness Regarding Regular Anthropometric Assessment And Multidimensional Exercises In Obese Females.

BACKGROUND: Obesity is a multifactorial disease with both adverse health effects and economic implications. Weight status can be measured in several ways such as Anthropometric indices which includes BMI, waist circumference, waist-hip ratio and neck circumference. Multidimensional exercises plays important role in reducing the body weight. The aim of this research is to study the level of awareness about the regular Anthropometric assessment and multidimensional exercises in obese females for the prevention of complications occurs because of obesity. OBJECTIVES: Objectives are to check awareness level regarding regular anthropometric assessment and multidimensional exercises and the complications of obesity in obese females using self-made questionnaire. METHODS: Assuming that 50% of participants interested to join in the study with 7% of effect size at 95% confidence interval and the sample size is 100 obese females by using Statitulator software for estimation. The questionnaire was made on the basis of different aspects, which will determine the level of awareness overall. The questionnaire was provided in online and in offline mode too. The level of awareness was checked on the basis of responses. RESULTS: Based on the statistical analysis, it was found that the maximum (49%) obese females had poor knowledge followed by (30%) good and (20%) excellent knowledge regarding the regular anthropometric assessment and multidimensional exercises. CONCLUSION: Findings show that Anthropometric assessment is the newer term for each population, but knowledge and understanding regarding multidimensional exercises is good in this population.
