ELECTRONIC EFFECTS OF XENON-CONTAINING SUBSTITUENTS

The electronic effects of xenon-containing substituents XeY, [Xe+] and [XeF+2] in different solvents were calculated using the 19F NMR method. The results obtained allow us to classify these substituents as the strongest σ-electron acceptors due to the strong positive inductive effect, while the resonance effect is small.
