Analysis of Performance and Rehabilitation Characteristics Based on Types of Sports Injuries Among Dancers

This study aimed to identify the types and causes of sports injuries among dancers and to analyze the forms and methods of rehabilitation after such injuries to understand their impact on dancers' performance. The objective was to provide foundational data for effective rehabilitation strategies. The study population included dance majors in G Metropolitan City. Participants were informed about the research's purpose and objectives, and their consent was obtained for the survey analysis. Data analysis was conducted using the SPSS/PC Ver. 29.0 statistical program.
Frequency analysis was used to examine demographic characteristics, and cross-analysis was performed to verify differences in the frequency of sports injuries and rehabilitation characteristics among dancers. All statistical significance levels were set at P<.05. The following research conclusions were obtained.
The study found that sports injuries among dancers occurred most frequently in the spring season and primarily in practice studios, with ankle sprains being the most common injury. The main cause of these injuries was identified as excessive practice.
Furthermore, analysis showed significant differences in injury types based on dancers' majors. The study also found significant differences in the return-to-performance period depending on the type of injury.
In conclusion, the findings suggest that adjusting training volumes during the spring season, preventing ankle injuries, and establishing customized training plans based on dance majors can reduce injury incidence. Moreover, providing tailored rehabilitation programs that consider the characteristics of different injury types is expected to facilitate quicker recovery and return to performance for dancers.
