Characterization of Co1-xZnxFe2O4 nanoparticles synthesized by the autocombustion method
Nanosized particles of Co1-xZnxFe2O4, with x = 0.0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, and 1,0, were synthesized by the autocombustion method and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and ferromagnetic resonance (FMR). The results showed that the method can be used to produce particles with a crystallite size of less than 20 nm and that the anisotropy field of the particles decreases with increasing zinc concentration, ranging from 316 mT for Co0.6Zn0.4Fe2O4 to 31 mT for ZnFe2O4 (the anisotropy field could not be measured for CoFe2O4 and Co0.8Zn0.2Fe2O4). The present results may be useful for applications such as microwave absorption, hyperthermy, drug delivery and catalysis.
