Calculating the Carbon Emission Flows of Power Systems Considering Electricity Markets
Accurate and fair carbon emission measurement is the key premise of power system decarbonization. As the improvement of the traditional carbon measuring methods based on macro statistics, Carbon emission flow (CEF) reflects the distributions of carbon emissions caused by generation in power systems. However, existing CEF measurement algorithms cannot consider the influence of market mechanism on the allocation of carbon emission responsibility under the background of the electricity markets. This paper proposes a new CEF calculation method considering various market trading forms. Based on the expanded power transmission distribution factor, the power flow and network losses are decoupled according to each trade and the CEF of each trade are respectively computed, realizing the carbon emission responsibility calculation of each entity in the electricity market. The proposed algorithm has been verified in a modified IEEE-14 bus system, showing better numerical characteristics and more reasonable calculation results, which provides a solid foundation for the accurate measurement of carbon emissions and the accurate delineation of emission reduction responsibilities.
