Novel Intelligent Longitudinal Control Design Using Second-Order Fast Non-singular Terminal Sliding Mode Control
Using an artificial neural network and second-order fast non-singular terminal sliding mode controller (SOFNTSM), the study created a novel intelligent controller for a vehicle's longitudinal dynamics. The controller was first built to track a desired longitudinal velocity variation. The method starts by using a differential equation to simulate the vehicle's dynamic movement, which is represented in the state space. The SOFNTSM control design technique with stability analysis is covered in the section that follows. This method approximates the nonlinear dynamic function using an artificial neural network and uses a proposed Lyapunov function to assure system stability and finite-time convergence to the state. To demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the method, the work ends with a model of the control mechanism in a scenario and a comparison with the classical controller.
