Advanced Methodology for Optimal Allocation of Reactive Voltage Control Utilizing Sensitivity Matrix Analysis and Distance Evaluation Metrics

In practical power grid operations, dynamic reactive power sources, like the regulator, might struggle to supply ample dynamic reactive power support during fault-induced transients, especially when operating at near-capacity loads. Consequently, this research introduces a collaborative strategy designed to enhance the allocation of reactive power resources within the power system. This strategy ensures that the system maintains adequate dynamic reactive power reserves to address voltage fluctuations caused by faults during regular operation. Considering the reactive power equilibrium in power systems adheres to the “local balance” principle and exhibits characteristics of spatial and temporal interdependence, this paper suggests a novel reactive voltage control partitioning approach. This approach is grounded in the sensitivity matrix and a distance evaluation function, aiming to achieve spatial decoupling. The goal is to ensure that the system can promptly secure sufficient reactive power support in the event of a fault.
