Legacy Light Sources: The Product Lifecycles of Pre-LED Light Sources

The evolution of low wattage metal halide lamps is used to illustrate the product lifecycle of light sources from conception, through commercial launch to maturity, decline and replacement by LED-based sources. Similar examples are presented for incandescent and fluorescent light sources.
