Research progress and frontiers of energy savings in building integrated photovoltaic by using bibliometric analysis

Research on building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) has grown rapidly in recent years. BIPV is one of practical, innovative and promising zero-emission building technologies, which provides a useful solution to realize both low-carbon and high efficiency in building energy systems. This paper utilizes a bibliometric tool to conduct a scientometric analysis on relevant literature in the BIPV related topics. Through statistical analysis in line with institutional and author collaboration and their interconnections, keyword clustering and highlights etc., This study explores the state of the art and development frontiers in this field. A couple of key highlights are identified, including, phase change materials, the energy performance of photovoltaic double skin facades (PV-DSF), and photovoltaic insulating glass units (PV-IGU), the state of the art of those promising technologies are analyzed in detail.
