AUDITORIA DE ENFERMAGEM: O PAPEL DO ENFERMEIRO NO CONTEXTO HOSPITALAR

Introduction: Nursing auditing is a formal system and process that evaluates activities performed by professionals not directly involved, with the aim of meeting specific standards. Objective: The study addresses nursing auditing from a scientific perspective. Methods: An integrative review was carried out, critically evaluating several studies. The central question was: what is the role of the nurse auditor in the hospital context? Data were collected from the BVS, LILACS and SCIELO databases, using the descriptors: Nursing Auditing, Hospital Management and Role of the Nursing Professional. The study covered 16 articles published between 2016 and 2022, focusing on auditing and the role of the nurse. The methodology used was a qualitative review of the literature. Results: The year 2012 presented the highest number of publications, representing 30% of the total, with the BVS database being the richest in publications, with 70%. The analysis revealed that 40% of the studies investigated nursing prescriptions and precautions, with an emphasis on the quality of care. Conclusion: The results indicate a significant advance in nursing auditing, which stands out, even though it maintains an accounting bias, focusing on the management of health institutions.
