ALTERAÇÕES NO PERFIL DOS MICRORGANISMOS CAUSADORES DE INFECÇÕES DO TRATO URINÁRIO DE IDOSOS, RESIDENTES NO MUNICÍPIO DE MARECHAL CÂNDIDO RONDON-PR, NO PERÍODO PRÉ E PÓS PANDEMIA DA COVID-19
Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are frequent anomalies that affect the lower and upper urinary tract, in both sexes and all ages. Such infections are normally caused by gram-negative enterobacteria, which interfere with individuals' quality of life. This work aims to analyze how the Covid-19 pandemic influenced the profile and antimicrobial sensitivity of pathogens that cause UTIs in the elderly in the city of Marechal Cândido Rondon-PR, by verifying the results of positive urine cultures of elderly outpatients and hospitalized patients in the periods of May-December 2019 and May-December 2023. It is expected to find, as a result of the research, a difference in antimicrobial resistance and the predominant pathogen profile, bringing relevant information to be studied for the society of Marechal Cândido Rondon.
