Experimental Study of a Multi-level Protective Device for an Inverter System
Solar energy is becoming an increasingly attractive source for electricity production, and solar power plants (SPPs) are becoming more common around the world. Solar panel systems typically include inverters, which convert the direct current produced by the solar panels into alternating current that can be used in electrical systems. However, inverters can become vulnerable to various problems such as overvoltages, short circuits or grid instability. Protection of the solar power inverter system plays a key role in ensuring reliable operation of the system and preventing the negative consequences of possible malfunctions. In this context, inverter protection includes a range of technologies and activities aimed at detecting and responding to potential problems, minimizing risks and ensuring the safety of the power system as a whole. The results of an experimental study of multi-level protection of an inverter system based on the use of various types of protective devices against faults in the electrical network are described.
